Barton was dominant in the doubles matches winning by a combined 24-6 score as the Lady Cougars No. 1 duo of Karina Ono and Michelle Miller won 8-0. The No. 2 duo of Darrien Beckwith and Aspen McCann and the No. 3 duo of Jaime Christiansen and Gentry McLeland each won by identical 8-3 scores.
"All of the doubles teams remain unbeaten," said Head Coach Lyle Stickney. "Karina continues to dominate her singles opponents as she has not lost a game in either of her two matches this season."
With Ono winning the No. 1 singles by identical 6-0 scores, Miller nearly matched the feat in the No. 2 singles winning 6-0, 6-1. Beckwith captured the No. 3 singles winning 6-0, 6-4, while fellow freshman Aspen McCann survived a tougher No. 4 singles contest winning 6-4, 6-2. Christiansen won her No. 5 singles match 7-5, 6-0 while freshman McLeland battled back after dropping the first set 0-6 to fall 6-7 (7) in the second set of the No. 6 singles match.
"It's great to get back on the courts," said Stickney. "I had some concerns going into this meet as we hadn't practiced for nearly a week due to the school cancelations, but the ladies were able to perform without any real sign of court rust. We'll see how the team responds next week when we move outdoors and face last year's Region VI Champions Cowley College"
