Freshman season at Barton:
Smith worked 8 innings for the Cougars during his freshman season. He finished with a 0-1 record and a 6.75 ERA.
High School/Club:
While attending Elk City High School in Oklahoma, Nate batted .365 smashing 8 homeruns to go along with 50 RBI’s his senior season. As a pitcher he had a 10-2 record and a 1.70 ERA. Nate was a 4-year starter receiving a letter for each year and received an AHUS All Tournament Team selection in 2003 and was selected to the 2002 KIDS State Tourney team.
