Cougars stay No. 2 in national poll
The Barton County Community College men's basketball team remained at No. 2 in the latest NJCAA national poll.

Barton County did not play this past week and is still a perfect 11-0 after winning a pair of games at the Jayhawk Conference Shoot-Out in Coffeyville the first weekend of December.

San Jacinto (Texas) remained No. 1 for the second straight week. The Ravens are now 13-0 on the season and received 11 of the 16 first place votes, garnering 148 points. Barton County received two first place votes and 103 total points. Okaloosa-Walton (Fla.) and Dixie State (Utah) remained No. 3 and 4 in the poll.

Coffeyville (11-1) climbed five spots in the latest poll to No. 12 in the country and is the only other Jayhawk Conference team ranked. Garden City and Seward County, both members of the Jayhawk West, were among those receiving votes.

The Cougars will be in action Dec. 27 in St. George, Utah as part of the Dixie State College New Year's Tournament. Barton County will take on Chipola (Fla.) Junior College in opening round play.
