Cougars put together back-to-back wins; move into 2nd in West
The Barton County men's basketball team captured an 86-75 over Butler County Saturday night at the Barton County Gym. The win improved the Cougars to 3-2 in the Jayhawk West and 14-5 overall. The win also moved the Cougars into a tie for second place in the West behind Dodge City, who is 5-0. Butler County is now 1-3 and 12-6.

Highlights
Barton County led nearly the entire game and never trailed in the second half. The Cougars jumped to a 43-33 lead at halftime and up that to 17 points during the second half on their way to the win.
Jason Carter tossed in 23 points, hitting 3-of-6 treys, to lead the Cougars. He was followed by a career-high tying effort of 21 points from freshman Robert Whaley. Whaley was 8-for-12 from the floor with six dunks in the win. The 6-10 Michigan-native added a 5-for-6 effort from the line. Rapheal Posey came off the bench to add 13 points and Omari Westley tossed in 12. Chris McMillon handed out six assists for the Cougars. James Peters led Butler with 18 and Chris Lawson with 16.
Next Up
The Cougars will be back on the road at Hutchinson Wednesday night. Barton County is 2-1 on the road in West play this season and 7-1 on the road overall. Hutchinson was idle Saturday night and will bring a 2-2 West record and 14-4 overall mark into the contest. Tip will be at 8 p.m.
