The Barton County Community College men's basketball team moved up three spots in NJCAA national poll released today Barton is now ranked No. 3 in the country. The poll is the first released since the preseason poll in mid October, which had the Cougars tabbed No. 6.
Barton County is off to a 9-0 start and will play this weekend at the Jayhawk Shoot Out in Coffeyville. Barton County will take on Fort Scott at 5 p.m. Friday. The Cougars will finish with Kansas City Kansas Sunday at 11 a.m.
Indians Hills (Iowa) sits atop the NJCAA poll with 149 points, receiving 11 of 17 first place votes. San Jacinto (Texas) is next with 101 points and two first place votes. Barton County had one first place vote and 93 points. Vincennes (Ind.), 6-0, and Odessa (Texas), 6-0, round out the top 5. Both received one first place vote.
Coffeyville is also ranked in the poll, coming in at No. 14. The Red Ravens are 7-0. Butler County (8-1) and Seward County (9-1) received votes, but did not find the Top 20.
