Justin Fairman, Barton Basketball Assistant Coach

Bio

Justin Fairman is in his second season as an assistant coach of the men’s basketball program for the 2026-27 season.  In addition to his duties within the program, Fairman is also available for individual and group coaching sessions by contacting him directly.

2025-26
In his first season, Fairman helped Barton through a roller coaster of a year resulting in overcoming a midseason slump with a 10-game winning streak to earn a share of the KJCCC championship, the program's second conference title in three seasons. The Cougars then advanced to a fourth consecutive Region 6 Championship game before making their third straight NJCAA National Tournament appearance, finishing the season 28-8 overall.

Noah Williams earned KJCCC Newcomer of the Year honors while joining Aris Rodriguez as First Team All-KJCCC/Region 6 selections. Sebastian Muchitsch collected Second Team recognition, and Jayden Ramirez received honorable mention honors.

Williams and Rodriguez were later named to the Region 6 All-Tournament Team before both earning NJCAA All-America recognition. Williams received Third Team honors while Rodriguez garnered Honorable Mention distinction, marking Barton's fifth NJCAA All-American over the previous three seasons.

Prior to Barton
Fairman played two seasons at Neosho County Community College under Coach Coombs, averaging in double figures each year with 10 per game as a freshman and 14 points with 6 rebounds in his sophomore season.

Moving on the next level, Fairman played one season at East Texas A&M University Commerce before winding up his playing career at Southern University.

Following graduation from Southern with a Business degree, Fairman spent time as a Behavior Interventionist Teacher at Marrero Middle School, while also training players in the professional, collegiate, and high school levels.

Fairman began his coaching career as an assistant at LW Higgins High School in Marrero, Louisiana, before entering the collegiate ranks at Neosho County under Coach Coombs for three seasons.

A native of Louisiana, Fairman as the team captain helped lead Helen Cox High School to the 2008 State Championship, earning All-District and Best Defensive Player accolades.
