Carlos Sanchez, Barton Men's and Women's Soccer Assistant Coach

Bio

Carlos Sanchez enters his second season as an assistant coach for the Barton Community College men’s and women’s soccer programs, primarily working with the Cougars’ goalkeepers.

During his first season on the Barton coaching staff, Sanchez helped guide the men’s program to an NJCAA National Tournament appearance and a berth in the Region 6/Plains District Championship match. The Cougars’ coaching staff also earned United Soccer Coaches Junior College Division I Atlantic Region Staff of the Year honors.

As part of the Barton coaching staff, Sanchez has helped produced one NJCAA All-America, one United Soccer Coaches All-America, three United Soccer Coaches All-West Region selections, and seven combined All-KJCCC and All-Region 6 honorees.

In addition to his duties at Barton, Sanchez has served as the goalkeeper coach for Dodge City Toros FC since 2022, working with both goalkeepers and field players while assisting with training sessions, match preparation, and player development.

Prior to joining the Barton staff, Sanchez spent three seasons as an assistant coach at Dodge City High School and Dodge City Middle School from 2020-2025, helping develop players at the middle school and high school levels.

As a player, Sanchez was a three-year starting goalkeeper at Dodge City High School, helping lead the Red Demons to the 2020 Kansas Class 6A state championship while earning Kansas Class 6A Goalkeeper of the Year honors. He continued his playing career at Barton Community College during the 2021 season.
