Bio

Peyton Besco enters his first season as an assistant wrestling coach at Barton Community College.

A native of Rose Hill, Kansas, Besco was a three-time Kansas state qualifier during his high school career. As a senior, he opened the season with a 32-0 record before an injury altered the latter stages of his year, ultimately finishing fifth at the state tournament.

Following high school, Besco continued his wrestling career at Dixie State University (now Utah Tech), training under Olympic champion Rulon Gardner while competing with the school’s club program during its transition to NCAA Division I status.

Besco later returned to Kansas in May 2023 to help build a family business, an experience that sparked his interest in the accounting and business side of athletics. He resumed his academic and wrestling career at Pratt Community College, graduating in 2025 with an associate degree in business while earning Academic All-America honors.
