Bio
Tyler Stein enters his first season as Barton Community College’s head swimming coach, becoming the fourth head coach in program history.
Stein arrives at Barton following a successful coaching stint at Hays High School after beginning his coaching career with the Hays Swim Club in the summer of 2024. During his time at Hays, Stein guided the program to a Western Athletic Conference (WAC) championship while earning three WAC Coach of the Year honors. Under his direction, three student-athletes earned WAC Athlete of the Year honors.
A Great Bend native and 2022 graduate of Great Bend High School, Stein was a member of Great Bend’s school record-setting 200-yard medley relay team while establishing multiple conference records. A four-time KSHSAA State Championships qualifier, Stein also recorded multiple podium finishes before transitioning into coaching.
