Barton's Campigotto and Tchamoussa earn All-America women's tennis honors #GoBarton
Duo helps lead Cougars to highest national finish in 23 years during program's final season
Vitoria Campigotto and Grace Tchamoussa of the Barton Community College women's tennis team have earned postseason All-America recognition through the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) and National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), respectively.
The honors cap one of the most successful seasons in recent program history, helping lead the Cougars to a fifth-place finish at the 2026 NJCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championships held at the Palmetto Tennis Center in Sumter, South Carolina. Barton's national finish was its highest since the 2003 season, providing a memorable conclusion to the program's final year of competition. The Cougars' accomplishments were further reflected in the final ITA rankings, closing the year No. 7 nationally and No. 3 in the Region III standings.
Campigotto garnered ITA All-America honors following an outstanding sophomore campaign competing in the No. 1 singles position. The Joinville, Brazil, native got off to a great start to her sophomore season winning the ITA Central Region Fall Championship, earning a berth competing in the prestigious ITA Cup, continuing to battle throughout the year against the nation's best.
The honor is awarded to players finishing among the top ten of the final ITA National Singles Rankings, with Campigotto closing the season ranked No. 10 nationally while also checking in at No. 7 in the highly competitive Region III rankings.
Tchamoussa earned NJCAA Division I All-America recognition after advancing to the national championship match at No. 3 singles. The freshman from Lome, Africa, began an impressive postseason run by defeating the nation's No. 41 ranked player in the opening round before upsetting the tournament's third-seeded and No. 31 ranked competitor in the semifinals. Tchamoussa ultimately finished national runner-up after falling to the tournament's top seed and No. 5 ranked player, recording Barton's highest individual singles finish at the national tournament since 2003.
Also appearing in the final ITA national rankings were Danira Ndengoue at No. 22 and Jamie Petrova at No. 43. Regionally, Ndengoue concluded the year ranked No. 6 in Region III.
Despite the national runner-up and going 8-2 during the spring season, Tchamoussa was left unranked on the singles list but finished at the No. 19 spot with Petrova in doubles play. Campigotto and Ndengoue finished as the No. 15 ranked tandem. In Region III rankings, Campigotto and Ndengoue were listed at No. 14, with Tchamoussa and Petrova following at No. 15.
