Lady Cougar track and field tunes up for national championships at Nebraska Invitational

The Barton Community College women’s team wrapped up the regular outdoor season Saturday as a limited squad of freshmen competed in the Nebraska Invitational in Lincoln, Nebraska. The Lady Cougars will now turn their sights to the NJCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field National Championships held May 14-17 in Mesa, Arizona.

The Barton Community College women's team wrapped up the regular outdoor season Saturday as a limited squad of freshmen competed in the Nebraska Invitational in Lincoln, Nebraska.  The Lady Cougars will now turn their sights to the NJCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field National Championships held May 14-17 in Mesa, Arizona.

A week after earning the Region VI Athlete of the Meet, Agnes Abu was the lone Lady Cougar in any track event and posted a season best time of 2:11.21 to win the 800m.

Finding an interest in the Javelin through competing in multi-events, Trenna Cox had a good event throwing a season best 28.93m to finish ninth.   Also competing in field events, Bethany Bowman took seventh in the high jump at 1.51m while Tahje Ochs finished eighth in the long jump at 4.79m.
