High School/Club
Newton was a 3 year letterman at Manhattan High. He hit .390 with 29 RBI his senior season. In his junior year he batted .445 with 11 RBI while helping the team to a I-70 League championship. Played summer ball for the Topeka Stars. Batted .365 with 1HR.
