High School/Club:
Clayton was a 3 time letterman and 3 year starter at Hays High School. He played many different positions but was consistent from the plate. He batted .438 with 2 homeruns as a junior, and hit an impressive .510 with 2 homeruns during his senior season. Clayton helped Hays High to back to back conference titles as a junior and senior, as well as a sub state title as a junior. As an individual, he earned All WAC honors during those years and All State honors as a senior.
