Cougar Baseball outslugged in dropping doubleheader
The Barton Community College baseball team got outslugged Saturday at Lawson-Biggs Field in losing 9-7 and 15-12 to MCC-Longview. The Cougars appeared headed for a game one victory but a seven run sixth inning rally by MCC-Longview was the difference then a five run eighth inning in game two by the Lakers broke a 9-all tie. Barton pounded out twenty-six hits in the doubleheader to twenty-seven by the Lakers. Barton falls to 17-15-1 on the season while MCC-Longview improves to 9-16. The teams will wrap-up the four-game weekend series with another doubleheader on Sunday beginning at 12:00 p.m.
