The Barton Community College men's golf team finished second today at the Sterling College Fall Midwest Invitational held at Hutchinson’s Carey Park Golf Course. The Cougars trailed Dodge City Community College by four strokes after Monday’s first eighteen holes but the Conquistadors seven stroke improvement on the second day opened up a twelve shot final advantage. Barton will wrap up play in the fall portion of the schedule on their home course hosting the Barton Invitational on Monday, October 19, at StoneRidge Golf Club.
The Barton Community College men's golf team continued its hot start to the season running away from the field by thirty-four strokes to win the Kansas Wesleyan Fall Invite title Tuesday. The Cougars tore up Salina’s Municipal Golf Course with a new 36-hole school record 9-under 551 by firing a 5-under in Monday’s round followed by another solid 4-under in Tuesday’s final round. Claiming the top two individual placings, three Cougars finished the tournament under par while six finished among the top twenty of the fifty-four competitors.
The Barton Community College men's golf team opened up its 2015-16 season finishing second in the Central Kansas Classic. Held in windy conditions the past couple of days at McPherson’s Turkey Creek Golf Course, the Cougars led by two after the first thirty-six holes but had a tough final eighteen slipping to second place. Shooting a 942 team score (+102), the Cougars surrendered eighteen strokes on the final day to Sterling College.
