Barton men’s soccer vaults to No. 13 in NSCAA national poll
Receiving votes in the preseason poll, the Barton Community College men’s soccer team moved up to No. 13 in the first regular season national poll recently released by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. Picked by conference coaches to win the KJCCC, the Cougars are off to a 2-0-1 start to the 2012 season. Barton owns two shutout victories including a 2-0 win over No. 18 Northwest College to open the season and last Sunday’s 6-0 victory over Western Nebraska Community College. Barton’s lone non-win was a hard fought two overtime tie with No. 19 Otero Junior College. Barton will open conference and region play this Wednesday as the Cougars host 3-0 Dodge City Community College. Game time is 4:00 p.m. at Cougar Field.
