Cougars use second half rally to capture 2-1 conference road victory
Playing their third road game in five days, the No. 16 ranked Barton Community College men’s soccer team defeated Coffeyville Community College tonight 2-1 in Coffeyville. Trailing 1-0 at halftime, the Cougars tied the contest with twenty-five minutes to play on Ebu Camara’s goal from Mariano Gelso. Barton was able to pull ahead with seven minutes remaining as Carter Way connected with Emmanuel Morris for the game winner. The Cougars improve to 5-1-1 on the season and 2-0 in Jayhawk play while Coffeyville drops to 3-2 overall and 1-1 in conference play. Barton will make a return trip to southeast Kansas on Friday for a 4:00 p.m. game against Allen Community College in Iola.
