Barring a hiccup Thursday against Independence Community College, the No. 7 ranked Thunderbirds will roll into Great Bend with a 13-3-0 record and 7-0-0 conference record. The two Jayhawk Conference and Region VI powers split last year's meetings with the Cougars winning a thrilling come-from-behind 3-2 double-overtime game in Concordia while the T-birds got the ultimate revenge ending the Cougars' season 4-0 in the Region VI Semi-finals. Cloud went on to win the 2011 national title with their lone defeat on the season coming against Barton.
