The Barton Community College men’s track and field team captured five titles this past weekend finishing runner-up at the Region VI Outdoor Championships held at Garden City Community College’s Broncbuster Stadium. Competing in all but four of the twenty-two events while losing out points in two of the three relays, the Cougars acquired thirty-five top ten finishes in sixteen events during the cold and blustery weekend compiling 149 points coming up shy of champion Butler Community College’s 181.
The Barton Community College men's track and field team sprinted to three first place finishes this past weekend in the K.T. Woodman Classic in Wichita, Kansas. The Cougars also had strong overall efforts with sixteen top-ten finishes to go along with seventeen personal best and sixteen national qualifying level performances.
The Barton Community College men's track and field team had another solid outing this past weekend in Canyon, Texas, chalking up fourteen personal bests in the West Texas A&M University Classic & Multi event. Adding three first place finishes, The Cougars captured three individual titles amongst their twenty-two top-ten finishes to go along with twelve national qualifying level performances and a school history top-three effort of all-time.
The Barton Community College men's track and field team competed this past weekend in Arkansas City in the Cowley College Tiger Invite. Just like their women counterparts, the Cougars sent a number of athletes to the track competing in various events for the first time taking four first place finishes within nineteen top ten placings while recording four national qualifying performances amongst four personal individual bests.
The Barton Community College men's track and field team continues to climb up the national ranks wrapping up the indoor season this weekend placing fifth at the NJCAA Indoor Track and Field National Championships held the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Improving in the final standings four straight indoor seasons, the Cougars bettered last year’s seventh place with its highest finish since its national runner-up in the 2012 indoor season. With no individual national champions, the Cougars utilized its depth and solid performances garnering sixteen All-American awards leading all Region VI entries scoring fifty-six points falling just two points shy of fourth place.
The Barton Community College men’s track and field team captured another conference championship to go alongside a runner-up region finish this past weekend at the Region VI/KJCCC Indoor Championships held at Pittsburg State University's Robert W. Plaster Center. Coming up just five points shy of their twenty-eighth indoor region title to Butler Community College’s 159 points, the Cougars did capture the Jayhawk West championship beating out the Grizzlies by two points 216 to 214 as the two teams dominated the men’s competition. The defending indoor champion Cougars won just two events during the weekend but the deep and talented squad racked up twenty-four other placings including six second place finishes in earning Head Coach David Schenek the Men’s Coach of the Year Award.
