Barton improves to 4-2 in Jayhawk play and 7-3 overall while the Red Devils drop to 1-5 and 3-7 on the year. Lady Cougars lead from wire-to-wire in knocking off No. 8 Seward County #GoBarton

Leading throughout Tuesday’s contest at the Barton Gym, the Barton Community College women’s team knocked off unbeaten No. 8 ranked Seward County Community College 89-80. The victory was the first against a top ten ranked opponent since February 4, 2012, ironically also coming against Seward County, as Barton won by five in Liberal to defeat the No. 6 ranked Lady Saints. Miller buries game winning trey for Lady Cougar victory over Butler #GoBarton

The Barton Community College women’s team was 5.9 seconds from defeat Saturday night at the Barton Gym but five ticks later the Lady Cougars were victorious in a 68-67 win over Butler Community College. Barton improved to 2-1 in Jayhawk play and 5-2 on the year as Butler falls to 1-2 and 4-2 overall. The Lady Cougars will be back on the court on Tuesday as the unblemished and No. 8 Lady Saints of the Seward County Community College (3-0, 5-0) come to the Barton Gym for a 5:30 p.m. tip at the Barton Gym.

Lady Cougars match largest output in conference opening blowout over Colby #GoBarton

The Barton Community College women’s team opened up conference play Saturday night jumping out to a twenty point first quarter lead in blowing out Colby Community College at the Barton Gym 102-65. Matching their largest output of their season opener, Barton improves to 4-1 on the season while dropping Colby to 2-3. The Lady Cougars will have their first taste of action outside the friendly home confines on Wednesday as Barton travels to Garden City Community College on Wednesday for a 6:00 p.m. tip the Dennis Perryman Athletic Complex.

Lady Cougar basketball hits century mark in season opening victory #GoBarton

The Barton Community College women’s basketball team broke open a twelve point halftime edge with a thirty point third quarter effort to roll up a 102-68 season opening victory Wednesday night at the Barton Gym over the junior varsity squad from Kansas Wesleyan University. Coming up for the Lady Cougars is the weekend’s Best Western Cougar Booster Club Classic at the Barton Gym with Friday’s action matched against Redlands Community College before another tough contest on Saturday against Northern Oklahoma College-Enid. Tip-off set for 5:30 p.m. for both contests.
