Bio

Doug Kaiser enters his 10th year leading the women's golf team while entering his 8th year as the men's coach.

The 2016-17 season earned the program's seventh straight trip to the national championships as five Lady Cougars finished in the Region VI's top ten.  School history concluded the season at the NJCAA Women's Golf National Championship as Peerada Piddon finished runner-up leading the Lady Cougars to a 14th place finish.  Piddon followed up her then-school record seventh placing last year as a freshman to wrap up her career by also recording the lowest four-round score of 10-over for the championship.

As a team the Lady Cougars’ finished the four-day championship with its fourth straight day of improvement to place amongst the nation's top fourteen for the fifth straight year.

After not fielding a complete women’s team in his first season, Coach Kaiser’s nine seasons has produced five region championships, three region runner-up finishes, eight national tournament appearances, four individual regional champions, and three NJCAA All-American honors.

Two seasons ago in coming off consecutive top-ten national finishes, Coach Kaiser reloaded with all freshman to capture its then fourth straight Region VI title with five players in the top ten rolling to a twenty-five stroke victory and an eventual thirteenth placing at the NJCAA Championships in Florida.

The year prior, the Lady Cougars completed its second straight top ten national finish.  Winning all seven regular season tournaments, Barton had five of the top ten golfers in winning Region VI going on to place tenth at the National Championships in Arizona.

The 2013-14 squad was a historic one in Lady Cougar golf history as Barton won its second straight conference and region championship for the third time in four years.  The Lady Cougars went on to finish 9th place nationally, its highest national placing since the 10th placing of the 2006 squad.  Freshman Natthakan Teeratrakul earned All-Tournament Team honors placing 18th for the highest individual placing in school history.  The team effort was also the best Region VI women's finish since 2005 and the best individual finish since 2005.

The Lady Cougars were equally dominate during the 2012-13 season, winning five of the six conference meets to win the KJCCC Championship.  Reaching a national ranking of #9, the Lady Cougars won the Region VI Championship and went on to take eleventh at the NJCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championships.

In the 2011-12 season, the Lady Cougar golf team finished second in Region VI and finished 17th at the NJCAA Tournament.

During the 2010-11 season, the women won 3-of-4 conference tournaments and 5-of-7 overall, finishing 2nd in both tournaments, to go on and win the Region VI Championship and 17th place finish at the NJCAA National Tournament.

Kaiser played for Great Bend High School before becoming a top-15 Region VI Cougar golfer in the early 1980's along with former Barton Coach Steve Gotsche.

On the men’s side, Kaiser continues to lead the Cougars' relevance in the powerhouse Region VI  finishing No. 21 last season. More on Kaiser and the men's program
